Vinyl Window Sticker
This typography project was a blast to work on. I designed a quote by Ben Johnston: “Work hard and it’ll work out.” Inspired by Johnston’s style, which often features 3D-looking typography in murals, I aimed to capture a similar essence in my design.
Johnston’s work creates a 3D effect using paint while maintaining a 2D form. This presented a unique challenge for me since my vinyl sticker could only be in one color. I had to think creatively to replicate that 3D look with this limitation in mind.
To achieve a 3D appearance, I incorporated an angled shadow on the letters. This approach helped to give the letters depth and dimension, mimicking Johnston’s signature style within the constraints of my project.
I built all the letterforms in Adobe Illustrator and am really pleased with the final result. This project allowed me to explore new design techniques and push the boundaries of what can be achieved with a single-color vinyl sticker.
